Deleting Your Account
Last updated 13 October 2026
This English version is an informal translation provided for convenience only. The legally binding document is the German original. In case of any discrepancy, the German version prevails.
1. Who This Page Applies To
This page explains how to delete your account on gleem.gg, and which data is deleted or kept when you do. It is the same account you use for the Gleem IRL app, the Gleem Twitch Extension and Gleem's other products. Deleting it therefore applies to all of them at once; there is no separate account per app.
2. How to Delete Your Account
- Sign in at gleem.gg.
- Open “Settings” from the menu with your name, then the “Profile” section.
- Click “Delete account” at the bottom.
- Confirm with your password. If your account has no password because you have only ever signed in through Twitch, enter your email address instead; if there is no email address on the account either, enter your name as it appears in your profile.
- Click “Delete account” again.
Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. You are signed out in the process.
3. What Is Deleted
Together with your account, we delete:
- your profile: name, email address, password, language setting, avatar, two-factor authentication and passkeys;
- connected accounts (e.g. Twitch and Discord) with the access credentials stored for them, your beta enrollments, and the access you granted to apps through the Developer API;
- your creator page, if you have one, with everything that belongs to it: posts, rewards, membership tiers, queues, signed card designs, media library videos, widgets, team members and invites, stream and event data, as well as API tokens, webhooks and OAuth apps;
- what you have collected as a viewer with creators: Gem balances, Gem purchases and their history, tickets, memberships, gifted Gems, unlocked posts, redemptions, queue places, followed creators, signed card orders and shipping addresses;
- Gleem IRL: your devices, meaning phones running the Gleem IRL app and IRL Sidekicks, with their status data (telemetry), and the history of your IRL streams. Paired devices lose their access;
- Gleem Hosting as a renter: your rentals with their usage and session data, and your saved OBS setup with all of its versions and backups, including the encrypted files in our storage.
Together with the records, we delete the files you uploaded: your avatar, banner, the images and media of your posts and membership tiers, signed card motifs with their print originals, media library videos with every rendition and thumbnail, your widgets' files and your OAuth apps' icons. The files are removed from our storage in the background shortly after the deletion.
4. What Is Kept, and Why
We may or must keep some data beyond the deletion. Its link to your account is removed:
- Gleem Store orders. They are kept as a record of the sale, because commercial and tax-law retention periods of up to ten years apply to payment-related records.
- Invoices and receipts. For purchases of Gems and in the Gleem Store, Sold through Link, LLC (Stripe) issues the receipts as Merchant of Record and sends them to you directly. These records are held by Stripe and are not affected by deleting your Gleem account; Stripe's privacy policy applies.
- Gleem Partner Program. The partnership is closed. We keep the data collected under the German Platform Tax Transparency Act (PStTG, DAC7) and the records of your earnings and payouts for the statutory retention period. While we still owe you money, meaning a balance has not been paid out or a payout is still on its way, you cannot delete your account, as the balance would otherwise go with it. In that case, write to support@anikeen.com; the remaining balance is paid out regardless of the minimum, after which you can delete your account.
- Gleem Hosting as a host. If you offered machines for Gleem Hosting, your host record and its machines remain, closed, together with the name your account last had. Complaints about streams sent from one of these machines can still arrive after the account is deleted.
- Access log. Entries recording who acted on behalf of a channel (e.g. as a team member or through our support) are kept without a link to your account.
- Counts on other channels. Entries that belong to other channels, such as clicks on a creator page's links or spins of a wheel in a widget, remain without reference to your account.
The newsletter is separate from the account: a subscription is tied to your email address, not to your account. You end it with the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email. Server log files are covered by Section 3 of the Privacy Policy, and storage periods in general by its Section 17.
5. If You Can No Longer Sign In
If you can no longer sign in, write to privacy@anikeen.com and ask for your account to be deleted. If possible, write from the email address on the account, and give your name on Gleem or your Twitch name so we can find the account. We may ask follow-up questions to make sure the request comes from the account holder.
6. Deleting Some Data Without Deleting the Account
- Removing a device. On gleem.gg, open “IRL Sidekicks” in the dashboard, choose the device and click “Remove device”; this works for IRL Sidekicks and for phones running the Gleem IRL app alike. In the Gleem IRL app, you remove an IRL Sidekick under “Devices” with “Remove”. The device loses its access at once and its status data is deleted; the history of your IRL streams stays in the account.
- Disconnecting a platform. In “Settings” under “Connections”, disconnect Twitch or Discord with “Disconnect”.
- Deleting your saved OBS setup. In the dashboard under “Saved OBS setup”, with “Delete saved setup”. Every version and every file is deleted for good.
- Your creator page's content. Posts, videos, widgets, rewards, membership tiers, signed card designs, API tokens, webhooks and OAuth apps can each be deleted in the dashboard.
7. Your Rights
Your rights as a data subject, including the right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), are described in Section 15 of the Privacy Policy. An informal message to privacy@anikeen.com is enough to exercise them.
